Missionary Mom Des here: Another week gone and another week without an email. Lol. I'm sorry for all of you who are still checking this blog every week and have to read my take on what Elder Ogden is doing instead of his words. I do think that he ran out of time yesterday because he and his companion were invited to go to an amusement park with some members of the ward they are serving in. It's not Lagoon by any means, but they were still excited for a new P-day adventure.
He called us around 6 am Taiwan time because they were getting an early start to the day. We chatted for about an hour and he told us about his week. Some of the highlights include:
*Getting dropped by a few of their friends who they were teaching (not great), but also having Brother Li and another friend set baptism dates (great!)
*Celebrating Elder Parola's birthday during English class which included eating a Costco cake. :) Elder Ogden says that it tastes pretty close to the cakes from Costco in the US, and that makes him happy.
*Watching the progress of a typhoon that was closing in on Taiwan and then shifted direction right before it hit island. We'll just add this to the list of random things missionaries get excited about.
*Spending time on exchanges with one of the zone leaders in his area.
*Enjoying more delicious food.
*And, last but not least, enjoying his time with the wonderful Taiwanese people in his area.
*Oh ya...he also learned the valuable lesson of the importance of removing all items from your pockets before you wash your clothing. #RIPnotebook
With a little under two months left in Taiwan, Elder Ogden is excited to come home, but also wanting to help as many people in Taiwan as he can while he is still there. If you could remember him and his companion in your prayers to help them as they seek out more people to teach about our Savior Jesus Christ, I know he would appreciate it.
