Hello everyone!
This past week brought many miracles, one of which was that a kid named Sean who investigated [the Church] a while ago, reached out to the ward saying his mom has finally agreed to let him be baptized. He hopes to set a date for 7/6! It will be pretty tight, but we'll talk with him more about it when we meet with him. It is a very big blessing for us to be able to help him finish his journey to baptism and start the real adventure on the road to eternal life.
We went on exchanges with the zone leaders this week. I learned a lot from Elder Henderson. Their whole district is really unified and working really hard. It gave me a lot of inspiration to take back to our area. We helped several friends progress and also found a new friend on the street by asking questions to help them recognize the spirit, which is something we talked about last zone conference. I really think focusing on helping them learn how to receive and recognize revelation from the get go will help them be more self-reliant and give better service after they're baptized.
One thing I loved from zone conference last week was just ensuring we always have the spirit with us. How do we know? Well, the fruits of the spirit include faith, happiness, peace, love, etc., So if we aren't feeling those emotions, we don't have the spirit with us. Everything could be going great in our lives, but without the spirit we might still be miserable. And on the flip side, everything might be going exactly the opposite of how we hoped, but if we have the spirit we could still be happy and positive and face it with faith, or at least be comforted in affliction. So we just kinda committed to do self inventories and think: "Can I feel the fruits of the spirit in myself right now? If not, what do I need to do to get the spirit back?" Whether it's asking for forgiveness, repenting, getting rid of a bad influence, finding things to be grateful for, praying, whatever, we can get it back. When we are baptized we are entitled to [the Holy Ghost] as long as we "always remember Him, and keep His commandments which He has given (us)." So why let ourselves live without it?
I love you all, I hope you have a great week and find more ways to invite the Holy Ghost into your lives!
